The EU Council approved new rules for Ukrainians: what will change in their status.
According to inkorr.com: In September, the EU Council adopted new recommendations regarding the status of Ukrainians living in EU countries. The main goal is to allow them to change their status or, if possible, return to their homeland.
According to the report 'Wave', this was reported by the EU Council press service.
The new recommendations outline several key directions. Ukrainians will be able to receive more information about their opportunities, and EU countries are obliged to enhance cooperation among themselves and with Ukrainian authorities.
Procedure for obtaining status in the European Union
Regarding obtaining legal status, EU states recommend providing Ukrainians national residence permits through work, education, or family reunification. They can also apply for statuses under European legislation if they are highly qualified specialists and do not receive temporary protection at the same time.
Additionally, to support Ukrainians in returning and adapting in their homeland, it is proposed to organize informational trips to Ukraine, as well as voluntary return programs for a limited period that will allow them to maintain temporary protection.
The EU Council has adopted new recommendations for Ukrainians in EU countries, aimed at facilitating their status and return to their homeland when possible. Improving informational support and cooperation among countries are the main priorities of this plan.
