The EU plans to accelerate the delivery of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that the European Union (EU) intends to accelerate the delivery of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, as the war in Ukraine is a pressing issue for the future of Europe. She also emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to force Ukraine to surrender.
'And we know what can happen next, because it has happened before. He will move to new targets, as he already did after the events of 2008 and 2014. This concerns not only the fate of Ukraine but also the fate of Europe. Therefore, our first priority is to support the Ukrainian resistance,' she stressed.
The President of the European Commission also reported that the EU and its member states have provided Ukraine with support amounting to 134 billion euros since the beginning of the war. In addition, she noted that the next step will be the accelerated delivery of weapons and ammunition, which will become a key theme for the work of the European Commission in the coming weeks.
