According to UATV: The European Commission has announced that Ukraine will begin receiving a new loan of 90 billion euros in April 2026. This became known during a press conference held on January 14, 2026, in Brussels. Valdis Dombrovskis, the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs, noted that the European side is aware of the significant and urgent financial needs of Ukraine. He emphasized that this is why the European Commission aims to start payments by the specified date.
Financial support from the EU and international partners
Moreover, Dombrovskis reported that the EU will cover the majority of Ukraine's financial needs over the next two years. Under the ERA initiative, other international partners are expected to allocate about 9.7 billion euros to support financial stability in Ukraine. Additionally, the International Monetary Fund is preparing a program amounting to 8.1 billion dollars to back the efforts of the European Commission and other donors.
