European Union: over 1 million job vacancies in Germany and the situation with the unemployed.
According to inkorr.com: In Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, there are over 1 million job vacancies. However, according to Eurostat, by the end of May this year, about 13.1 million people remained unemployed in EU countries.
Job Vacancy Situation
Germany has the highest number of vacancies — 1.05 million. The country has become popular for migration: only in 2023, 1.27 million immigrants relocated there. In the second quarter of 2023, the United Kingdom had 781 thousand job vacancies, and France had 504 thousand. The Netherlands ranked fourth in terms of available jobs with 400 thousand positions.
Demand for Workers
Research confirms that the highest demand for workers is observed in Northwestern Europe, where the vacancy rate exceeds 3%. At the same time, Eastern and Southern European countries show lower demand for labor. The least available positions in the EU are found in Iceland, Luxembourg, Malta, and North Macedonia.
Conclusions
According to Eurostat data, the labor market in the European Union demonstrates a complex situation. While some countries experience a shortage of jobs, the overall number of unemployed remains high, indicating the need for labor market policy updates.
