Victor Lindelöf may join Aston Villa: transfer details.
Lindelöf may join Aston Villa
According to The Sun: Swedish defender Victor Lindelöf, who is 31 years old, may leave Manchester United for Aston Villa.
RexAston Villa's head coach Unai Emery still values Lindelöf, who once cost the Old Trafford club £31 million.
Lindelöf is currently training with his hometown club Westeros SK after ending his contract with Manchester United at the end of last season.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Lindelöf is undergoing a medical examination, which could be a decisive step in his transfer to Aston Villa, ahead of Italian side Fiorentina.
Situation at Manchester United
Lindelöf was initially supposed to be a star when he signed with United, but unfortunately did not manage to make his mark, similar to many other new players.
Everton also monitored his situation, but Aston Villa appears to be the most serious candidate to finalize the transfer before the window closes.
Meanwhile, coach Ruben Amorim is facing criticism after his team was eliminated from the League Cup by Grimsby.
However, a last-minute victory against Burnley on Saturday still secures his job.
“We need to understand that we always have to be at this level of effort,” the coach noted.
“This is the most important thing,” stressed Amorim, speaking about the team's efforts.
The coach added: “At Manchester United, everything is discussed in the context of goalkeepers. Even when I change the goalkeeper, these situations still happen.”
He also said: “Looking at the goal, we could have defended the penalty area better.”
Thus, the situation at the club remains tense, and Lindelöf could become a key figure in Aston Villa's transfer history if the deal goes through.
Lindelöf's transfer will not only impact his career but also Aston Villa's strategic plans. If the transaction is successful, it could strengthen the team's defense, which is significant in the ongoing battle for league standings.
