Former Premier League referee David Coote charged with creating child pornography.
Scandal with referee David Coote
According to The Sun: Former Premier League referee David Coote today appears in court on charges of producing indecent video involving a child of category A.
The 45-year-old native of Newark, Nottinghamshire, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court for his first hearing on this charge.
APCoote is suspected of making one such video on January 2, 2020.
Category A charges concern the most serious cases of indecent images or videos depicting penetrative sexual activity.
Criticism and Dismissal
Last December, Coote was dismissed after his abusive comment about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was leaked online.
Videos surfaced on social media showing the former referee calling Klopp a 'German c***' and Liverpool 's***'. He also stated:
“I do not intend to communicate with someone who is as p***tastic.”
Coote does not deny that the video is authentic but claims he does not remember saying it.
This behavior raised serious questions about his impartiality and willingness to officiate in English football.
The refereeing organization PGMOL fired Coote, and UEFA banned him from officiating until next June.
A statement indicated that Coote's actions are a 'serious breach' of his contract.
“Following a thorough investigation into David Coote's conduct, his contract with PGMOL was immediately terminated.”
Coote's New Activities
In June, Coote was spotted delivering parcels for Evri, noting that he is trying to 'make an honest living'. He also added that he aims to move on with his life.
