IFAB may change the offside rule: Wenger's proposal will be considered in November.
According to inkorr.com: Changes may be coming to football's offside rules. According to the publication 'Hlavkom', Arsène Wenger, the former coach of 'Arsenal', is proposing a new formula. According to his idea, a player will not be considered offside if any part of their body that can score a goal is on the line of the last defender or behind it. The proposed rule is set to be discussed at a meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) in November, and if positively resolved, it may be approved on March 1.
As former Spanish referee and officiating expert Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez stated, Wenger's amendment will be analyzed in November and has a good chance of approval from IFAB.
If these changes are approved, they will come into effect in 2026 and may be applied during the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
