Finland is helping Ukraine with the supply of defense equipment
An agreement between Finland and the European Commission on the supply of defense equipment to Ukraine using funds from frozen Russian assets has been reached. Over 90 million euros will be spent on the procurement of heavy ammunition.
'We have managed to secure additional funding to support Finland's assistance to Ukraine. The funds come from frozen Russian assets. Products are being procured from Finnish industry to stimulate employment domestically and are being sent to Ukraine to aid in its defense. I am very pleased with the outcome.'
'Finland's support for Ukraine is steadfast and strong in other aspects as well. This new package, along with our national support program of 660 million euros, will create closer ties between Finnish industry and Finland's support for Ukraine. This is a great example of the capabilities of the Finnish defense industry, demonstrating that our investments in ammunition production capacity are yielding results.'
Additional information regarding the terms of supply remains confidential.
