Floyd Mayweather's Grandson Started Boxing at Age 4: How the Champion Trains.
Floyd Mayweather's Grandson Started Learning Boxing
According to The Sun: Four-year-old Floyd Mayweather's grandson, Central Golden Jr., or simply KJ, is already training in boxing. He is the only child of Mayweather's eldest daughter, Iyanna.
Floyd Mayweather with his grandson KJ Mayweather with his grandson KJKJ's father is the controversial rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden. The boy has boxing greatness in his blood, as he is the grandson of the undefeated Mayweather, who also had a father and uncles who were boxers.
It seems their legacy will live on: Mayweather actively helps train KJ, who celebrated his fourth birthday this January. Iyanna posted several videos showing young KJ training at his grandfather's famous boxing gym in Las Vegas under the guidance of a boxing legend.
The boy's mother expressed her hopes for him and shared a photo with the caption:
“My baby is practicing how he will climb the ropes after winning fights.”
Floyd Mayweather ended his career by defeating the famous UFC fighter Conor McGregor in 2017. However, he continues to participate in exhibition fights — the next one is scheduled for 2026 against Mike Tyson. Both boxers have already signed a contract for the bout, but the date and venue have yet to be announced.
Iyanna, who is 25 years old, gave birth to KJ in January 2021 with ex-partner NBA YoungBoy. The rapper is known for having 12 children with ten different women. NBA YoungBoy was released under house arrest in April due to a weapon possession charge from 2021 and returned to his music career after the house arrest.
Floyd Mayweather, having significant influence on the boxing world, is passing on his knowledge to the next generation. Training his grandson in the famous gym in Las Vegas indicates that the boxing family tradition continues. This could be an important milestone in young KJ's career if he chooses to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. Themes related to family and talent development are relevant in modern sports, and this case is no exception. Read also
