George and Amal Clooney Foundation joined the recording of sexual crimes committed by Russians.

The George and Amal Clooney Foundation has joined the assistance to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in recording sexual crimes committed by Russians in Ukraine. International experts, including the George and Amal Clooney Foundation, provide their expert assistance in studying the precedents of the investigation of sexual crimes, which have occurred in various countries, for example, in the former Yugoslav state, Congo, Rwanda, and others.

Larisa Denysenko, former director of the Department of International Law of the Ministry of Justice and a former advisor to the Minister of Justice, noted that this assistance is very powerful and significant. The investigation of sexual crimes related to the military conflict began from the moment of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, however, such crimes had also occurred earlier. Until this time, there were only isolated confessions and statements from witnesses and victims. Larisa Denysenko noted that there is also the possibility to file a claim in a court of one of the European Union countries if the victim has left Ukraine.

Ukrainian lawyers cooperate with various international organizations, including the International Criminal Court, which helps to record crimes and criminals committed during military conflicts.
