Neymar becomes the sole heir to a billion dollars

According to The Sun: A well-known Brazilian businessman has left all his assets to soccer star Neymar as per his will. The 31-year-old entrepreneur from Rio Grande do Sul has officially recorded his intentions with a notary, stating that 'all his worldly possessions' are to be transferred to the football legend.

The will was confirmed in June 2025, where an anonymous man named Neymar as the heir

The estimated amount of the inheritance is £752 million. The inheritance includes assets such as real estate, investments, and shares in large companies.

The man, who passed away and left no children, legally documented his will in June 2025 with the presence of two witnesses and a notary. In the document, he stated that he acted 'in full judgment, free from any coercion or persuasion,' explaining that the decision came from his 'identification with the player.'

“I like Neymar, I really identify with him,” the document states.

Recalling Neymar's personal values, the anonymous businessman added that his relationship with his father has traits similar to what he had with his own father, who has already passed away.

“His connection with his father reminds me of the one I had with mine, who has already passed,” he added.

Neymar, whose fortune already exceeds approximately 6.2 billion Brazilian reais (£846 million), is currently considered one of the richest athletes in the world. The will is being reviewed by Brazilian courts for the 'confirmation of the player's desires' regarding his designation as heir.

While Brazilian media actively discuss the inheritance, Neymar has not publicly commented on the matter yet. If the will is approved by the courts, the transfer of assets will be taxed, which could lead to legal disputes.

In 2024, the 33-year-old footballer earned 665 million Brazilian reais (£90.7 million) from contracts with Al-Hilal. According to Forbes, he became the third highest-paid footballer of the year, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Recently, Neymar returned to his home club Santos in Brazil, proclaiming on social media, 'I am back.' This decision marks a milestone in his career.

It will be interesting to watch the developments, particularly regarding how Brazilian legislation will affect the transfer of inheritance and what issues may arise in the process. Currently, everyone is waiting to see how Neymar himself will react to this.
