Arrest of the Footballer on Suspicion of Murdering an Opponent
According to The Sun: The footballer was arrested on suspicion of murdering an opponent more than a year after a brutal fight.
Luis Torres died as a result of an attack by Moises Pulido on September 9, 2024.
The incident occurred during a match between Torres's team Viper 3.0 and Pulido's Deportivo Esmeralda on the artificial turf in Guadalajara, northwest of Mexico City.
Torres, who was 16 years old, was passing through the center of the field in the second half when he made a pass. It was then that he began to argue with the opponent over a failed tackle.
Pulido, 25, approached the young man and hit him in the face several times during the League of Cannies match. When Torres fell, Pulido continued to strike him on the back of the head, leading to a fatal injury.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived, Torres was already dead, his body was convulsing.
Pulido fled the scene, but was arrested on October 10 after a court order was issued for his search.
The judge accuses him of intentional murder, and he is currently in custody while the investigation continues.
