Wickham, 32, had a great opportunity to make a statement as he scored a stunning goal from beyond the halfway line.

Fans were not holding back their emotions, leaving comments on social media:
- “Surprise, Wickham is still without a club.”
- “Enough with Hibernian already.”
- “I still love Connor Wickham.”
- “Sign him, Ipswich Town.”
This is not the first time he has scored from such a distance; he also stunned in the FA Cup in 2022 when he scored an incredible goal against South Shields.

After his time at Sunderland, Crystal Palace spent £7 million to sign him.
During his six years at the club, he scored 11 goals in 50 matches.
However, his time at Selhurst Park was marred by injuries, including a serious knee injury in November 2016.
He was released by Crystal Palace in 2021 and then played for Preston North End, MK Dons, Forest Green Rovers, Cardiff City and finally — Charlton.
Wickham started his career in the Ipswich Town youth team, already showing great potential.
As a teenager, he scored 15 goals in 72 matches for the “Tractor Boys.”
He also received international recognition, playing for England at various levels, including under 21.
This summer, it seemed he was planning to move to Bromley, training with the League Two team.
However, apparently, he was unable to convince Andy Woodman to consider his candidacy.
