According to The Sun: Burnley player Josh Brownhill has turned down Premier League offers in favor of a contract with Saudi club Al-Shabab.

After five years at Burnley, Brownhill left the club freely in June. He had several offers, including from Brentford, Wolverhampton, and West Ham during the summer transfer window.

Leicester City was also reportedly interested after their relegation to the Championship.

However, Brownhill chose Al-Shabab, where he was warmly welcomed.

The Saudi club released a video introducing Brownhill as an important figure to help advance football in the country.

The player admitted that his decision to move to Saudi Arabia was influenced by impressions from coach Imanol Alguacil.

“I feel a great honor to join Al-Shabab. The way the coach plays – the formation, the system, and the vision they have really attracted me.”

“I hope to score many goals, and we will try to win a few trophies this season.”

New Partnerships

At Al-Shabab, Brownhill will be able to play alongside Atletico star Yannick Carrasco and former Southampton and Watford players Wesley Hoedt.

This move is significant not only for Brownhill's career but also for the development of football infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which actively attracts global stars to raise the profile of the league. Clubs in the region aim to create a competitive environment that appeals not only to talent but also to an international audience.
