According to The Sun: Former Manchester City star Kiki Musampa has been detained on suspicion of tax fraud involving 100 thousand pounds sterling.

This left winger played for Manchester City on loan from Atletico Madrid, making 41 appearances over a year and a half.

Musampa, who is also known as Chris, scored goals in matches against Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Middlesbrough. In 2006, he moved to Turkey to join Trabzonspor.

He has 43 caps for the Netherlands U21 national team and has also won Champions League titles and two Dutch championships with Ajax.

Musampa, who is 48 years old, is currently working as an assistant coach for Ajax's reserve team - Jong Ajax.

According to Dutch police, the footballer was arrested on Tuesday.

During a search of his home, documents and luxury watches were seized.

A 65-year-old accountant of Musampa was also arrested.

The former footballer was released from custody on Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators from the Dutch Fiscal Intelligence Service (FIOD) claim that Musampa wrongfully declared himself as a tax resident abroad while working and earning income in the Netherlands.

“We are aware of Kiki Musampa's arrest but believe it is too early to react in detail.”

The career of this attacking midfielder spanned six countries, and he also faced challenges in clubs in France, Turkey, and South Korea, ending his career at the Dutch club Willem II in 2009.
