The advertisement states:
“Websters Estate Agents is delighted to offer this truly unique and impeccably finished semi-detached, located in an extremely desirable area in Norwich.”
“The property has convenient access from the road and has been upgraded to high standards, including parking and a garage.”
“It is important to note that the property consists of; a hall, a toilet, an open kitchen/dining/family room, a laundry room, a workout area, four bright bedrooms, a shower room with an ensuite, a family bathroom, an attic with workspace, and a large terraced back garden.”
Strange Detail About the Stairs
However, despite all the impressive features, some observant potential buyers noticed a strange element in the house.
Some consider this detail to be dangerous.
Others joked that new owners might need safety measures to move around a part of their home.
The staircase, made from simple wooden planks, connects the attic with one of the bedrooms, raising questions about the safety of such a structure.
Viewers dubbed this dangerous construction the “death stairs”, many commenting that “this cannot be legal”.
The stairs consist of one main wooden board, to which smaller boards are attached to form the steps. As a result, they resemble a ladder more than standard stairs.
Discussing this strange design, one social media user noted:
“You are one funny moment away from a quirky death.”
Another added:
“I suspected there would be a fall, but it looked really funny.”
The story became known after the inconspicuous terraced house with a wonderful secret went up for auction for £100,000.
This house was initially used as a smokery for fishermen and later became the headquarters for a business called Bloomfield Marquees.
However, its 'labyrinthine' layout includes more than 20 rooms. Only three of them are used as bedrooms, while others contain a bar, kitchen, two toilets, three storage rooms, and a large entrance hall.
