Flore Dolci will miss the Olympic Games due to an injury
According to inkorr.com: French skier Flore Dolci will not be able to participate in the Olympic Games due to a vertebral fracture she sustained in a paragliding accident. The incident occurred while celebrating her birthday on October 9, and the next day the athlete underwent surgery.
“There was a risk of neurological consequences. She is fine, she can walk. Considering the surgery, we assume it will take her six months to fully recover her potential,” said Thibaut Barb, doctor of the French team.
Flore Dolci, 26, ranked 27th in the overall standings of the World Cup last season, which is the best result among French female skiers.
Anastasia Tatalina requests to be admitted to the 2026 Olympic Games
Russian freestyler Anastasia Tatalina has appealed to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to allow her to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games.
“I represent Russia, and I was proud when the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) sent me a telegram after winning the world championship,” she said in April 2022.
Tatalina is a member of the Russian military club CSKA, which has connections to Russia's involvement in the conflict against Ukraine. The athlete has also liked a post with the Russian military slogan “we do not leave our own behind.”
Flore Dolci will not compete in the Olympic Games due to injury, while Anastasia Tatalina is striving to gain the right to participate in the 2026 competitions, representing Russia and highlighting support from President Putin. These events reflect the broader context of athletes’ participation in international competitions, accompanied by political and social challenges.
