In Odesa region, the organizer of illegal transportation of men abroad was detained: he faces 9 years in prison.
A resident of the Odesa region organized the illegal transportation of men abroad. However, during the journey with a client, the defendant's vehicle was detained by border guards, and he faces imprisonment.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Details of the case
A 38-year-old resident of the Oknian community, acting in collusion with an unidentified individual, organized the illegal transportation of a conscripted citizen abroad. He valued his services at 1500 dollars, a third of which was asked as a deposit. The suspect met the 'client' at a specified location and arranged accommodation for the night.
In the morning, after receiving the money, the defendant drove the man to the state border in his own car. However, at this stage, they were detained by law enforcement. As material evidence, the police seized the car used for transporting the 'client' as well as the money found during a sanctioned search at the fraudster's residence.
In addition, the suspect involved his partner - a 53-year-old resident of Odesa region, with whom they planned to transport one of the 'clients' to a neighboring country.
What punishment is threatened
The transporter has been notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (organization of illegal transportation of a person across the state border of Ukraine by a group of individuals acting in collusion). He faces up to nine years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail in the amount of 242 thousand UAH.
Recall that recently we wrote about how men were transported by trucks to Moldova. And also about where border crossings are most frequent.
