Ukraine and Canada Sign Cooperation Agreement in the Defense Industry: What Does It Mean.
According to FREEДOM: Ukraine is enhancing cooperation with Canada, actively strengthening relations in the military sphere and increasing pressure on the Russian Federation. This information was announced today during a live broadcast on the FREEДOM TV channel by political analyst Igor Chalenko.
"When talking about Canada — we signed an agreement on further cooperation in the defense industry. This is not limited to specific financial investments, but it is a strategically important direction. We are once again showing that we are currently strengthening relations with our main partners and allies. Plus, Canada is a G7 country, and now we would like this intensification of our relations to help not only in the military sphere but also, for example, in increasing sanction pressure on the Russian Federation, specifically at the G7 level," explained the speaker.
According to the political analyst, the United States and Canada play an important role in this regard. Discussions are also ongoing regarding providing Ukraine with security guarantees. For example, Romania is ready to offer its military bases to NATO allies.
"If we talk about Romania, it is obvious that there will be cooperation with the United States. They will use the relevant opportunities to deploy their Air Forces, which should directly patrol the skies of Ukraine. Plus, it is clear that there will be reinforcement of air defense directly on the territory of Ukraine," Chalenko noted.
The political analyst also added that in the maritime sphere, Romania and Turkey will presumably take a key role.
"This will be a continuation of the work that Ankara is currently doing to ensure the necessary level of security in the Black Sea basin, even in conditions of open aggression from Russia against Ukraine. When the war subsides, it is clear that Turkey has all the possibilities to take on issues of monitoring, patrolling, and ensuring export opportunities for Ukrainian ports," the political analyst is confident.
In Chalenko's opinion, Ukraine's security is inextricably linked to the security of Europe as a whole. Therefore, security guarantees provided by partner countries can significantly impact stability in the region and prevent aggression from Russia.
