Harris Surpasses Trump in Trust on US Economic Policy - FT.
A Financial Times survey showed that Kamala Harris is more trusted on US economic policy than Donald Trump. This is the first survey showing the Democratic candidate's advantage on the economy in almost a year.
According to the survey, 42% of voters believe Harris would handle the US economy better than Trump during his presidency. It is worth noting that Harris outpaced Joe Biden by 7 percent on economic issues.
Despite growth and employment in the US, Biden has had difficulty convincing voters that his economic policy is successful. Americans are still most concerned about inflation ahead of the November elections. The survey shows that only 19% of voters believe they are better off than in 2021 when Biden became president.
The survey also found that nearly 60% of respondents believe Harris should change Biden's economic policy or make significant changes to his platform.
Dissatisfaction with economic conditions in the country could be profitable for Trump. Only a quarter of registered voters rate the economic situation as excellent or good, and 42% said they would be better off if Trump became president again. Only 33% believe they would be better off with Harris as president.
The survey also found that Trump is more trusted on trade issues with China than Harris.
Donald Trump advocates for a protectionist trade policy with Beijing and threatens to increase tariffs on cars and other imports if given four more years in the White House.
