This defeat left United in 14th place in the Premier League table, with just one win in their first four matches.

The team is already eight points behind league leaders Liverpool.

This is the worst start to the season for United since 1992/93, although back then under Sir Alex Ferguson, the club still managed to win the title.

This is also the 20th defeat in 47 matches for Amorim at the helm of United.

Neville expressed his concern over the situation for the former Sporting coach.

“I worry for the coach, I worry about what will happen in the next few weeks,” said Neville on Sky Sports.

“I don’t think it’s time for panic now, but I’ve seen this before, we’ve been through this scenario.”

Need for Improved Results

Amorim has won just eight of 31 Premier League matches as United's coach.

Neville emphasized that results need to improve quickly since the club invested in new players this summer.

United bolstered their squad with players like Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Senn Lamens, spending £200 million.

“We cannot go into October sitting 14th or 15th in the league; otherwise, the coach could lose his job,” Neville added.

“They need to start winning quickly.”

If United loses next week to Chelsea, the team could drop to 15th or 16th place.

Manchester United Player Ratings Against Man City

Manchester United's Poor Run Continues After Defeat to Man City.

Ruben Amorim's team failed to bounce back after the international break, suffering a 3-0 defeat.

Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Erling Haaland scored a brace in the second half. United is now in 14th place in the table.

Here are United's player ratings from Katherine Walsh.

“And this is not where they can be after spending £200 million and giving him a pre-season.

“It’s five games, and before you know it, you’re already in October, and they’re at the bottom of the table.

“There needs to be a change established urgently, and the coach's ideas must quickly take hold with the players.”

United faces tough matches ahead before the visit of Chelsea, who remain unbeaten, on Saturday.

Then the team will head to London for a game against Brentford.

Amid a series of failures, Manchester United is facing serious challenges and pressure. The top of the table seems increasingly distant, and now every match becomes crucial for the coach and the team. Neville and other experts point to the urgent need for changes, as further delay in improving results is simply not an option.

Clubs that fail to meet expectations risk losing not only their coach but also fan support, so we may soon see what decisions United’s management will make.
