Ukrainian military attacked a Russian airfield in the Republic of Adygea
On the night of October 10, 2024, Ukrainian military forces successfully attacked a Russian military facility. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports on the fire damage to the "Khanskaya" airfield located in the Republic of Adygea.
According to military leadership information, during the operation, an ammunition depot on the airfield's territory was damaged. In the target area, enemy air defense activity was observed, and a fire was recorded.
It is known that Su-34 and Su-27 aircraft were based at the "Khanskaya" airfield. The exact consequences of the strike are currently being clarified.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes that the operation was carried out with the joint efforts of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The joint combat work of all components of the Defense Forces on important targets of the Russian armed forces will continue further," it is emphasized in the message.
It is worth noting that the "Khanskaya" airfield is located 3 km east of the namesake stanitsa and 6 km northwest of the city of Maykop. According to open data, the 272nd Training Aviation Base of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots is located there.
