The government introduces a 20% increase in pensions for residents of mountainous areas: conditions
As reported by 'Khvylia', this is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 793.

According to inkorr.com: Citizens of Ukraine living in mountainous areas will have the opportunity to increase their pension by 20%. The document also clarifies which categories of the population will receive additional payments and specifies certain conditions for their receipt.

Who is eligible for compensation

  • pensioners;
  • persons with disabilities;
  • recipients of social pension;
  • low-income families;
  • orphans and children deprived of parental care;
  • students receiving state scholarships;
  • everyone who receives social assistance from the state.

Requirements for receiving compensation

  • residing or working in mountainous settlements for at least 6 months during the year;
  • not staying abroad for more than 60 days (except for medical reasons);
  • absence of pensions or social payments from other places.

Suspension of payments

In case of violations, payments may be suspended. This occurs if a person is found not to actually reside at the specified address, spends a long time outside of Ukraine without justified reasons, or receives social benefits elsewhere. Monitoring will take place at least twice a year. If the recipient does not confirm their place of residence within a month after the check, the payment will be halted, and they will be notified either by phone or online.

Other pension supplements in Ukraine

Pensioners in Ukraine may also be entitled to other benefits. For example, there are additional payments for persons over 70 years old, as well as compensations for the care of lonely elderly people who need constant assistance. Veterans and their families are entitled to a payment of 590 hryvnias (25% of the minimum subsistence for non-working individuals).

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's resolution No. 793 confirms the right of Ukrainians to receive additional pension payments in 2025. According to this document, pensioners living in mountainous regions may receive a 20% compensation from pension payments. It also specifies which categories of the population may claim these payments and what conditions must be met. Adhering to the requirements set by the government will help avoid the suspension of payments.
