Head of the Ministry of Energy revealed Ukraine's gas needs until the end of 2025.
Halushchenko: By 2025, Ukraine may import 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko believes that Ukraine may need to import approximately 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas by the end of 2025. According to him, this volume will depend on the state of gas infrastructure after the attacks by the Russian Federation.
Russian attacks have a negative impact on Ukraine's own gas production, but the minister believes that this is a temporary problem that Naftogaz is able to manage. The company purchases gas at market prices and has the ability to obtain financing from the EBRD and grants for gas procurement.
Currently, Ukraine has not yet received proposals from the EU regarding gas transit through its territory, while Slovakia is already receiving Azerbaijani gas and can increase its volumes if needed.
