Poland Begins Its Presidency in the EU Council
On January 3, an official opening ceremony for Poland's presidency in the EU Council will take place at the National Opera in Warsaw. European Council President António Costa and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will speak at the ceremony.
'The official ceremony will begin with speeches from Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President of the European Council António Costa,' stated the Polish presidency's announcement in the EU.
During the ceremony, musicians from the Polish National Opera, conducted by composer Radzimir Dębski, will perform a specially created musical piece reflecting the traditions of Polish classical music.
Poland, which began its presidency on January 1, has identified boosting Europe's security as its main priority. The motto of the presidency is 'Security, Europe,' the logo features the Polish flag against the backdrop of the EU abbreviation in English (EU), and the main priority is security across seven dimensions (external, internal, informational, economic, energy, food, and health security).
President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Poland on the start of its presidency in the European Union Council and expressed hope that the Polish presidency would make Europe stronger.
