Graham Potter could take over the Swedish national team: What is known about the negotiations.
Graham Potter considers return to coaching
According to The Sun: Graham Potter is thinking about a swift return to coaching less than three weeks after his dismissal from West Ham.
He admitted that the vacant position of head coach of the Swedish national team, with which he has close ties, would be 'fantastic'.
AFPThis position became vacant after the dismissal of Jan Dahl Tomasson on Tuesday.
Potter owns property in Sweden and managed Östersund for eight years, leading the team from the fourth division to the Europa League.
When asked about a possible move to Tomasson's position, Potter noted:
“I am actually in Sweden right now, at my home.”
“I am open to any offers where I can help. The coaching position of the Swedish national team is fantastic.”
“I am only 50 years old and have a lot to offer.”
“It's not about finding a job at a certain level, but about finding something where I can help and make a difference.”
Potter worked less than seven months at Chelsea before being sacked in 2023 and then waited two years for what he considered the right place, but spent only eight months at West Ham.
Potter's financial situation
Potter received an incredible £13MILLION as a severance package when he left Chelsea.
This means he is under no pressure to seek a high-paid job.
Potter also noted:
“I have been lucky to have such a career. It has allowed me to be in a very good financial position.”
“At this level, I have no reason to consider financial aspects as a reason for job-related decisions.”
