In a match held at Blundell Park on Wednesday, Grimsby managed to surprise the Premier League giants, taking a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Charles Vernam and Tyrell Warren. However, later Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire managed to equalize the game.

In the end, Grimsby stunned Ruben Amorim by winning the penalty shootout and advancing to the next round.

Strange requests from the coach

After the victory, Jason Stockwood shared that the Manchester United head coach made an unusual request.

“With Manchester United in our city, they sent us almost a list of demands for the coach, asking where the dressing room for the manager is?”

To this, Stockwood replied:

“I thought it was quite funny. For us, the manager's dressing room is the back of his car.”

He also noted that when United players got off the bus onto the field, they looked as if they were not ready to play.

“They have all this incredible talent, and I am a big fan of the Premier League. But, looking at how they walked, they looked like they didn’t want to be there, which I honestly found quite enjoyable.”

United coach's reaction

Ruben Amorim commented on his team after the humiliating defeat, stating:

“I believe the best team won, and it was the only team that was on the field.”
