Blood Type on Driver's Licenses: New Rules for Ukrainians.

According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian drivers have been informed about the rules for including blood type information on driver's licenses. Since 2019, a new regulation has been implemented in Ukraine: the blood type and Rh factor must be indicated in new driver's documents. This decision was made to ensure quicker provision of medical assistance in case of road accidents.

Remember: blood type data is entered into the license only based on a medical certificate, not the applicant's information.

However, not all licenses contain this important information, especially those issued or renewed after the introduction of the new rule. In such cases, drivers may add their blood type information independently.

Why Sometimes There Is No Blood Type on the License:

• Lack of relevant data in the medical certificate.

To have blood type information appear on the driver's license, it must be specified in the medical document. If such data is not provided during the document change or is not indicated in the certificate, it will not be entered into the license.

• Voluntary nature of providing information.

It should also be noted that in new licenses, blood type and Rh factor information is optional and is only indicated at the owner's request. So, if a person does not want to provide this information, the field may remain empty.

Experts emphasize that the inclusion of blood type in the driver's license should only be based on medical data. Not all licenses automatically receive this information, but owners can add it at their discretion.
