Redknapp has become part of the management team of Speedway Futures Ltd, which oversees speedway in Great Britain. He is pleased that the media are once again paying attention to this thrilling sport.
“I watch it on TNT Sports, and it's incredible entertainment. These guys accelerate to 60 miles per hour faster than a Formula 1 car, with no brakes, risking their lives and health every time they compete,” he notes.
Redknapp lives near Poole Stadium and remembers how often he took his sons to speedway. For him, it has always been great entertainment.
“It's really thrilling motorsport right next to you, as well as in other corners of the country, like Bellevue, Sheffield, Oxford, Leicester, Ipswich, Glasgow, and Kings Lynn, to name just a few iconic venues,” he adds.
Redknapp also recalls how the 1981 speedway world championship final drew 90,000 spectators at the old Wembley Stadium. He believes that speedway suffered from the disappearance of the 'World of Sport' show, but is now gaining popularity again.
“The sport has truly suffered from the emergence of 'World of Sport', but undoubtedly, it is on the rise again, and anything I can do to help, I will definitely do,” he assures.

“Racing is still out of this world, and Great Britain is the world champions, winning the title for the second time in four years, which is an incredible achievement to be proud of!”
Redknapp promised to contribute to the rise in popularity of speedway, stating: “If I can show leading football clubs the way to triumph, I am sure I can help speedway become popular again.”
“I love this, it's an incredible and exciting spectacle and probably the rawest form of motorsport in the world,” he emphasizes.
“Four riders per race trying to outdo each other at high speed, 15 races an evening. It's hard to find anything like it in sport, and it's great entertainment for the spectators,” Redknapp adds.
“I know that if people get to a race, they will keep coming back. TNT Sports are getting great ratings for live events, and traditional clubs are gathering large crowds,” he concludes.
“And I really want to be part of the speedway revival, that's definitely my goal!”
Harry Redknapp, who has already achieved recognition in the world of football, now seeks to rewrite the history of speedway in Britain. His enthusiasm and experience may be key factors in bringing back the popularity of this spectacle, and leave hope for new successes in the future. Media attention to speedway could also activate viewer interest and attract new fans.
