Soon, users on social media began calling Szczyk the 'new CEO of Kiss Cam Coldplay'. They compared him to the unfaithful chief astronomer Andy Byron, who was involved in a scandal during a Coldplay concert.

One user on X asked: “What is worse, the CEO of Coldplay or tennis CEO Piotr Szczyk?”

“Definitely Szczyk.”

An angry commenter wrote: “This isn’t even a question! What Szczyk is doing is much worse than the Coldplay CEO's misconduct…'

“We don’t know what his relationship with his wife was like, and we haven’t seen how unhappy he could be.”

Yet another user commented: “This is worse than going to a Coldplay concert and cheating on your partner. Who steals a child's hat at a tennis match?”

It turned out that Szczyk is the CEO of the Polish company Drogbruk. This information was confirmed by tennis player Kamila Majchrzak, who stated that Szczyk was the one who took the hat and apparently supports Polish tennis promotion.

The situation grew critical when the boy Brock was watching the match of Majchrzak, who tried to return the hat to Brock. The boy looked happy, but suddenly someone snatched it from his hands.

After the incident, Majchrzak sought out the boy to clarify the situation.

“After the match, I did not notice that the hat did not reach the boy,”

– he wrote on Instagram.

Thanks to this search, Brock and Majchrzak met, and a touching video showed them shaking hands and talking to each other.

While there was a commotion on the internet, Andy Byron, who was also criticized for his behavior, decided to step down after the scandal. This demonstrates how quickly negative reactions on social media can affect people's careers.

The incident at the US Open not only sparked discussion on social media but also impacted the reputations of those involved in the scandal. This is another example of how fast developments at public events can have substantial consequences. It is important to consider ethics and morals in sports and life in general.
