Roy Jones Jr: Floyd Mayweather deliberately avoided a fight with Amir Khan.
Floyd Mayweather faces criticism for avoiding a fight with Amir Khan
According to The Sun: Floyd Mayweather has been accused of dodging a fight with British boxing legend Amir Khan.
Roy Jones Jr believes Khan could have defeated Mayweather if they met in their prime.
GettyJones Jr thinks Mayweather is deliberately avoiding the fight because he knows he could lose.
The 48-year-old Mayweather, considered one of the greatest boxers in history, remains undefeated in all 50 of his professional bouts.
Among his victims are boxing legends like Ricky Hatton, Saul Alvarez, and Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather's last fight took place in 2017 against UFC star Conor McGregor.
Since then, he has participated in several exhibition matches with individuals like Logan Paul, Aaron Chambers, and John Gotti III.
Currently, rumors are circulating about a potential return to the ring for Mayweather, with 38-year-old Khan being mentioned as a possible opponent.
The Bolton boxer became one of the youngest world champions at the age of 22.
He won 34 out of 40 fights but retired in 2022 following a loss to Kell Brook.
Jones Jr believes that Khan's movement technique could be the key to defeating Mayweather.

However, according to Jones Jr, Mayweather is well aware that Khan could be a threat and therefore does not want to face him in the ring.
“In my opinion, the only person who really had a chance in his weight class back then was Amir Khan. He would not have gotten to Khan at that time. Khan had good legs. He would not fight Amir.”
Jones Jr is absolutely confident in his position, knowing that Khan possesses all the necessary qualities to seriously challenge Mayweather.
The situation surrounding Mayweather and a possible return to the ring remains tense. Rumors of future fights continue to brew, and interest in a bout with Khan may indeed be growing. If it happens, such a clash promises to be exciting for boxing fans worldwide.Read also
