Young Chelsea talents under Maesca's spotlight

According to The Sun: Chelsea's head coach Enzo Maesca is focusing on young talents in his team, particularly three academy players who are ready to debut in the first team.

16-year-old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and 17-year-old Shym Mheuka, both attacking players, have impressed everyone with their performances in the England youth team and are part of the Italian coach's plans.

Mheuka has already debuted in the first team last season and scored five goals in three matches for the youth national team, while Kavuma-McQueen gained fame for scoring four goals in a match against Germany's youth team.

With Cole Palmer and Liam Delap sidelined due to injuries, these young talents may get opportunities earlier than expected, especially during the Carabao Cup match against Lincoln on September 24.

Coach's plans and high praise for youth

Maesca shared his thoughts on these talented players:

“They are both definitely in my plans. Shym played for us last year. Ryan is a more attacking player.”

The coach also mentioned:

“I saw Ryan score four goals against Germany, and I was very impressed, but I already knew about him.”

Kavuma-McQueen is very popular within Chelsea's youth system, and the club is making efforts to retain him and not let him move to other teams.

Maesca admitted he has a special favorite among the youth:

“I love all the academy players, but Reggie is my favorite.”

16-year-old Reggie Walsh is already training with the first team, and given the injuries of key midfielders, it would not be surprising if he gets more playing time this season.

Maesca concluded:

“Reggie is doing more than I ask of him, so I love him.”

Most likely, Chelsea's youth team will play against Ipswich next Saturday at Kingsmeadow Stadium.

In light of the emergence of new talents in the team, Chelsea is actively investing in the youth system, as the club's future largely depends on new stars who can become the foundation for success in domestic and international competitions. Coach Maesca is clearly focused on supporting the youth and integrating them into the team's play, which could be a key factor for the club's further development.
