Rituals, which specializes in bath, body, and home products, marked this significant milestone with a new store opened in St Albans on August 27. The company now has 100 stores in the UK and Ireland and plans to increase the number to 131 by 2025. Details of the new stores have not yet been disclosed.
Of these, 13 will open in the UK and two in Ireland, increasing the number of Irish stores from 16 to 18.
The store in St Albans will introduce a new format for Rituals. Health consultations, interactive experiences, and access to the 'My Rituals' loyalty program will be offered here. To celebrate the opening, the first 50 visitors received gift sets, and everyone who spent £45 or more received a free diffuser. The most popular shower gels were available at a special price of just £8.50.
“Reaching one hundred stores in the UK is not just a number; it's a reflection of the deep bond we have built with our customers,” says Annemarie Forsyth, the director of Rituals in the UK and Ireland.
“From our first store to this exciting new chapter in St Albans, we remain committed to helping people slow down and find joy in everyday moments.”
The company also announced the opening of a new store in Edinburgh, which will provide an enhanced Rituals experience aimed at inspiring mindfulness and self-care. This opening will mark an important milestone in Rituals' expansion strategy in the UK.
New Openings and Future Plans
This chain has created over 1,000 jobs in the UK across retail, logistics, training, and management roles and plans to continue its growth. In addition to new stores, Rituals will open its flagship Mind Oasis on Oxford Street in London at the end of the year. This space will become a 'sanctuary for well-being' in the heart of the capital.
Forsyth notes that the upcoming 'golden quarter' will create new opportunities for the brand: 'We are also planning a new winter limited edition collection of products and an extended gift collection for Christmas.'
OTHER OPENINGS
Rituals is not the only enterprise with expansion plans.
A bakery known as “better than Greggs” is opening new stores across the UK.
Wenzel’s The Bakers, which has been in operation since 1975, is planning a new wave of expansion. B&M is launching 45 new stores this year, as Britons increasingly seek out great deals.
The company Aldi will also open 11 more stores, including branches in Nelson, Durham, and Chesterfield.
Additionally, Topshop has confirmed that Liberty will become the first of its new retail partners in the UK after a four-year hiatus when the brand moved online.
Thus, the retail market in the UK continues to actively develop, with most companies seeking ways to attract new customers and grow their business amid constantly changing economic realities.
