Costa Coffee is closing one of its stores in Trafford Centre, Manchester. Company representatives assured that employees would be transferred to the nearest cafés.

It is known that two other establishments in the shopping center will remain open: one located in the NEXT store and the other in the Odeon cinema.

“We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store in Trafford Centre will close for trading later this month. Our talented barista team will be transferred to nearby stores in the city center. Our Costa Coffee shops in NEXT and Odeon in Trafford Centre remain open for our customers,” said a Costa Coffee spokesperson.

This closure comes amid news of other network locations. For example, a month ago a popular store closed on Westbourne high street, marking it as part of a list of 20 closures.

Establishments also closed in Andover, Kent, and Marlborough.

“We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store on Seamoor Road, Westbourne, which is owned by one of our franchise partners, will close for trading next month,” said a company spokesperson.

It should be noted that closures have not spared other companies. For example, Cancer Research announced the closure of 88 of its stores due to rising national insurance contributions, inflation, and changes in consumer habits. It is estimated that another 100 stores will close by April 2027.

“This is awful. We have dedicated years of our lives to this charity, and now we are being ‘thrown out’ just before Christmas,” said a person within the organization.

According to forecasts, the number of store closures may rise to 202,000 by 2025.
