High street discounter launches 70% closing down sales ahead of three shops shutting from TODAY – check 28 axed branches.
Closure of The Original Factory Shop
According to The Sun: A high street discount store has announced a new sale with a 50% discount ahead of its closure, which is happening today.
The Original Factory Shop (TOFS) is closing its branch in Winchcombe, Shropshire, on August 31.
AlamyThe chain is launching a big sale to clear out stock. Shoppers can get discounts on clothing, home goods, and cosmetics.
This news has come as a big blow to locals, who are saying they are 'very sad' about the store's closure.

Another store in Chard will close on September 7, and it has already started a 70% discount sale ahead of its closure next week.
Additionally, a store in Nairn, Scotland, will close on September 22.

What is happening at TOFS?
The Original Factory Shop was purchased by Modella Capital, a private investment firm, in February.
Modella is known for its support of distressed retail companies and recently acquired Hobbycraft and WHSmith stores.
The company quickly began its reorganization, including reviewing leases in 88 TOFS stores.
At the end of April, Modella announced plans to initiate a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) for the retailer.
A CVA helps companies avoid insolvency, which can lead to store closures or lost business opportunities.
The Original Factory Shop previously told The Press and Journal that 'several unprofitable stores will have to close' as part of the reorganization.

The closure of The Original Factory Shop in Winchcombe is part of a broader reorganization plan for the chain, which includes the closure of other low-performing stores. Locals express their outrage, however, buyers have already appeared at the sales looking for bargains. Such decisions in the retail industry indicate a challenging economic climate for retail in some areas.
