Britain reminds about £2000 for child care: who can get it.
Reminder about free child care assistance
According to The Sun: The UK tax authority (HMRC) reminds parents about the possibility of receiving up to £2,000 to cover child care costs.
The tax authority urges families to take advantage of free child care support. In a statement posted on social media platform X, it states:
“Don't forget that Free Child Care can help you save on child care costs this autumn. If you are a working parent with a child under 11 years old and your annual income does not exceed £100,000.”
This program offers working parents a payment of £2 for every £8 they spend on child care. The maximum amount that can be received is £2,000 per year per child or £4,000 if your child has a disability.
The child must be under 12 years old or up to 17 years old if he or she has a disability. This payment helps parents cover child care costs. Payments are made twice a week - £26.05 per week for the eldest or only child and £17.25 for each subsequent child. Generally, payments are made every four weeks, on Monday or Tuesday, but there can be cases where it may be once a week.
Working families can also receive 30 hours of free child care per week during the school year for children aged 9 months to 4 years old. Child care must be provided by a registered provider, such as a nursery, playgroup, or school. Applications can be submitted when your child reaches 23 weeks old, but funding begins at the start of the semester.
However, applications for funding for this semester can no longer be submitted, but you can apply before the start of the next semester in January or April.
Free hours will be provided when your child turns nine months old.
