Change of Return Policy in Stores
HOME BARGAINS and The Range have become part of the 28 retail locations that had to revise their online return policies following an investigation by Martin Lewis. In July, the founder of Money Saving Expert (MSE) discovered that the policies of these 28 stores and cafes provided consumers with fewer rights than those guaranteed by law.According to The Sun: According to
“Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013”, consumers have the right to return goods within 14 days of purchase. However, many of these stores did not comply with these requirements, prompting action.
Martin Lewis and his team found numerous complaints from shoppers regarding such violations, which led to changes in return policies in accordance with legislation.
Some stores have already updated their policies to ensure consumers have appropriate rights when returning goods.
Following these measures, consumers can expect a more transparent and fair return policy from businesses. This will allow them not only to return unsatisfactory products but also to be confident in their rights as buyers. It is important for other stores to adhere to the established norms, thereby increasing the level of trust among consumers.Read also
