The company is working with Retail Insight software, which will allow for automated pricing decisions.
The new technology was tested in 20 Home Bargains stores in February, and it is now already implemented in over 600 stores.
Home Bargains' Retail and Technology Director, Paul Rowland, noted that this step “has helped us transform a very manual and outdated process into one that is easy for employees, beneficial for business, and better for customers.”
Useful tips for shopping at Home Bargains
Those looking to save at Home Bargains can make use of several tricks. According to The Sun, Home Bargains labels feature secret codes that indicate when a product is in demand and when new stock is expected.
Regular shoppers know that some products are marked with 'Star Buys' labels — these are promotional offers covering a wide range, from cosmetics to food products.
Many customers may not know that a red label with a yellow star on these items means something special.
Tom Church, co-founder of the discount code platform LatestDeals.co.uk, stated that these red labels inform employees that the product is a bestseller. 'The star is a sign that space on the shelf should not be used for other products, but rather to restock this same product or wait for delivery the next day,' he noted.
If you notice this label, think of it as a 'popular label,' as it indicates high demand for the product.
Church also emphasized: 'This can be helpful if you're ever in doubt, as it’s a sign that the product is popular among many others.'
Not all 'Star Buy' labels have special star stickers, so it’s important to rely on those that are red with a yellow star inside.
Save smartly at Home Bargains
Knowing when to buy products is just one of the ways to save at Home Bargains. There are plenty of other tricks that can help reduce expenses.
Don’t forget to compare prices before making a purchase by using price comparison websites such as www.pricespy.co.uk and www.latestdeals.co.uk.
The Google Shopping tab can also help track prices on products.
If you’re looking for alternatives to pricey products, Home Bargains can be a great option. Recently, shoppers noted an affordable alternative to Laura Mercier's bubble bath.
While Laura Mercier Honey Bath costs £47 at Boots, you can find Home Bargains Serenity Collection Bath Honey for just £1.99.
Shoppers were also thrilled with the Revolution Pro Cream Wand Trio set, which usually retails for £18, but was spotted for only £1.99 at Home Bargains. This set is considered an excellent alternative to Charlotte Tilbury's £81 Beauty Light Wand & Hollywood Contour Kit.
Keep an eye out for discounts at B&M
Home Bargains' main competitor, B&M, also offers great discounts.
The secret to getting the best deals is to use the B&M scanner app.
This app is available in the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play.
On the home page of the app, there is a 'scan' button.
Simply point your phone's camera at the product's barcode, and the app will automatically display the price.
If the product's price on the shelf is not updated, the app will notify you — this is a great way to find the biggest bargains.
The changes in pricing at Home Bargains highlight the company’s commitment to enhancing customer service and implementing modern solutions in retail. Automating the process will not only simplify the work for employees but also allow customers to receive up-to-date and accurate prices on products. The strategic steps taken by the company may play an important role in maintaining competitiveness in a market where speed and convenience for consumers are prioritized.
