Homebuyers are mass refusing old houses: three main reasons.
Modern trends in the real estate market
According to The Sun: Potential homebuyers are increasingly refusing old houses due to fears of mold, the need for maintenance, and leaking roofs. According to a survey conducted among a thousand adults who are currently looking for housing, 44% are considering new build options, while only 30% plan to buy old housing. More than half of the respondents (53%) indicated that they are wary of the problems associated with maintaining old houses.
“Many people believe that new houses are more attractive and require less spending on repairs,” specialists note.
Therefore, buyers are increasingly paying attention to new technologies and modern solutions in construction.
These trends in the real estate market indicate a shift in buyers' priorities. While older houses used to have their supporters, today new projects with modern energy-saving technologies and comfortable designs are becoming increasingly popular. This may indicate a general market trend towards innovation and improving quality of life.
