Doc Martin's House from the ITV Series Sold for £985,000: Here's What It Looks Like Inside.
Cozy Cottage from the ITV Series
According to The Sun: The cozy cottage, made famous by the beloved ITV series, is located in Port Isaac, Cornwall. It is a former fisherman's house with stunning views of the natural harbor and village.
SuppliedPort Isaac is a traditional fishing village known for its picturesque views, but the most popular spot here became the fictional house in the series 'Doc Martin', featuring Martin Clunes, since its premiere in September 2004.
The cottage became the workplace for Doctor Martin Ellingham in the series. It can currently be booked in the autumn for £360 per night, and it offers “a retreat from the burdens of modern life in an idyllic setting.”
This two-bedroom house impresses with its character: stone floors, exposed brickwork, a kitchen suite, and an original fireplace give it a unique style.
Sale of the Cottage and Reviews
The cottage was listed for sale in 2022 for £1.25 million, a month after the last series of 'Doc Martin' wrapped filming. In 2023, it was sold, and Josephine Ashby, the managing partner of the real estate agency, noted that the selling price was close to the reduced amount of £985,000.
“We received an offer almost immediately, but, as with the sale of a work of art, it is difficult to determine its true value,” she added.
The cottage is located above Port Isaac, or Portwenn, as it is called in the series, and has numerous five-star reviews online:
“We had a wonderful time at Fern Cottage. As fans of 'Doc Martin', we enjoyed watching Port Isaac.”
Nearby are popular seaside resorts Polzeath and Padstow, making this spot ideal for fans of the series or simply for a cozy seaside getaway.
Actors' Memories
Before filming the final episodes, Martin Clunes shared his impressions:
“I really loved going to Cornwall to film 'Doc Martin' over the past 18 years. I was looking forward to returning to this wonderful region this year for the 10th and final season.”
“The people of Cornwall, and especially Port Isaac, have always been very kind to us while we made the show.”Not known, clear with picture desk
