Assistance for households facing difficult circumstances
According to The Sun: Families and individuals experiencing financial difficulties can apply for support of £100 to cover rising costs this winter. The assistance is provided through the Government Household Support Fund (HSF).
The program has been extended several times, with the latest phase set to run from April 2025 to March 2026. Each council in England has been allocated a share of the fund totaling £742 million.
“This support could be a crucial lifeline for those facing financial difficulties this winter,” said a government representative.
Given the rising prices and economic challenges, such support may prove critical for many who need to ease their financial burden. The government hopes that homeowners will take this opportunity to alleviate their financial situation during this challenging winter period.
