Government restricts discounts on sugary drinks: what will be banned.
Government efforts in the fight against obesity
According to The Sun: In Ukraine, measures continue to be taken to reduce the consumption of sugary drinks, such as Coca Cola, due to the growing problem of obesity. As part of new legislative initiatives, the government has banned promotions on unhealthy products in supermarkets, specifically 'buy one, get one free' on candies, chips, and soft drinks. These changes came into effect at the beginning of this month.
“This initiative is aimed at reducing the consumption of harmful food and drinks among the population,” said a government representative.
These measures are aimed at improving the health of the population and raising awareness about proper nutrition. With the increasing obesity rate, it is important that a culture of healthy living emerges in society, and the new rules can be the first step towards this. The government continues to work on programs that support healthy eating and activity in society.
