Nectar cardholders can save hundreds of pounds: simple ways.
According to The Sun: Nectar loyalty card users at Sainsbury's have the chance to save hundreds of pounds by using simple tips, ranging from fuel discounts to wine promotions.
Registered loyalty program clients accumulate points during purchases in stores that can be used for discounts. One Nectar point is worth 0.5 pence, so 100 points equal 50 pence and 200 points equal 1 pound.
Storing points can be a profitable way to get discounts on Christmas purchases or party supplies.
There are many other ways to save with a Nectar card in-store. Interestingly, some promotions are available even to those without a loyalty card.
Fuel your car cheaper
Sainsbury's customers can accumulate points while refueling at Esso stations and also receive fuel discounts.
Under the program, drivers receive one Nectar point for every liter of fuel and two points for every pound spent in partner Esso stores.
Customers can use their Nectar points to receive a 5 pence discount per liter by exchanging 300 points.
To take advantage of the scheme, you need to scan your loyalty card at the checkout while refueling. However, keep in mind that Esso is not always the cheapest option, so it's worth looking for better deals.

If you're hosting parties, pay attention to Sainsbury's discounts on wine.
During promotions, the chain offers a 25% discount when buying six or more bottles of wine or game sets. To get the discount, you must scan your Nectar card at the checkout.
Typically, the promotion does not apply to wine priced below 6 pounds in England and 7 pounds in Wales. Currently, Sainsbury's is not running this promotion, but you can always check the chain's website.
Fruits and vegetables for 2 pounds
Don't miss the opportunity to buy affordable boxes of fruits and vegetables during your next visit to Sainsbury's.
This initiative was introduced in 2023 to combat food waste. Boxes can be found in the fresh produce section, and all products are carefully selected to ensure their freshness.
Get delivery for free
If you enjoy receiving groceries from Sainsbury's at home, consider subscribing to a delivery subscription.
These subscriptions allow customers to pay a fixed fee monthly, annually, or every six months, after which delivery will be free.
You will also receive priority booking for Christmas delivery.
There are two different subscription options.
This subscription allows free delivery every day if the spend is 40 pounds or more. The cost is 80 pounds per year, 43 pounds for 6 months, or 7.50 pounds per month.
Alternatively, you can choose a weekday delivery subscription, allowing free delivery every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday if the spend is 40 pounds or more. The cost of this subscription is 40 pounds per year or 4 pounds per month.
According to Sainsbury's estimates, this offer can save up to 168 pounds a year.
How to benefit
SUN Savers editor Lana Clements explains how to find discounted items and benefit...
Sign up for loyalty programs of brands you shop with regularly.
Major brands often offer discounts or special prices for members, as well as other benefits.
Sales are a great opportunity to grab real deals.
Retailers usually run promotions at the end of the month or during weekends, so keep an eye on these deals.
Sign up for newsletters to be the first to know about special offers. It's also worth following brands on social media.
When shopping online, always look for discount codes that can be used on partner sites.
It's useful to have price comparison code scanners on your phone.
Shoppers can also use the B&M scanners in the app to find discounts before they're tagged by staff.
And always check for cashback options before making a purchase.
