Chris Kamara talks about his battle with speech apraxia: how his life has changed.
According to The Sun: Chris Kamara has stopped chasing after the person he once was.
However, this beloved football commentator, who recently celebrated his 67th birthday, does not need to, as he remains the same man that millions adore.

Change in voice and emotional return
His voice has undoubtedly changed since being diagnosed with speech apraxia three years ago, but he remains as emotional and passionate as ever. His tone of humor, which made him a national treasure, has not changed.
Having earned a worthy status at the construction site in his hometown of Middlesbrough, Kamara jokes amid the construction noise: “Do you want me to stop those guys? It’s my tea break!”
He couldn’t resist the well-worn phrases “Unbelievable, Jeff,” which became comedic 25 years ago on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday.
“I never knew I was doing it in the first place. I was at Manchester City. Some players were walking past saying, ‘Unbelievable, Jeff’. I had no idea what they were talking about.
“So, Sky put together a compilation, and then I realized I kept repeating it.”
Emotional moment in sports broadcasting
Kamara made an emotional return to screens by commentating on the Nottingham Forest vs. Tottenham match. This moment was particularly touching as it marked his first appearance after a long break, reuniting with his friend Jeff Stelling.

Future and impact on youth
Kamara is confident that the new football hub opening in spring will help young people get involved in sports. He also emphasizes the importance of getting children engaged in physical activities.
“We have to distract kids from their phones and give them the opportunity to play football.”
Moreover, Kamara enjoys spending time with family and relishing life. He considers his life to be “incredible” even under the new circumstances.
Chris expresses pride in his achievements and acknowledges all the new opportunities that lie ahead of him.
