Doubt in Winning

According to The Sun: 71-year-old retiree James Monton is now enjoying stunning sea views from his luxurious £4 million home. All thanks to just £35 spent on an Omaze raffle.

Previously, James lived in a one-bedroom council flat in Hull and barely made ends meet, receiving a thousand pounds a month from his state pension. The win in June changed his life.

The man who previously spent £400 a month on rent is now happy, not only because he became a homeowner but also because he could improve his family's financial situation sooner.

“The situation was tough, especially in the last few years. I was surviving, but I had to manage expenses carefully,” James recounts.

Win on the Horizon

When James decided to enter the raffle again in June, he felt that this was his chance. He spent £25 on 90 entries and signed up for a monthly subscription, which brought him an additional 100 entries.

“When I got a call from Omaze with the news of the win, I was eating fish and chips in my old flat in Hull,” he recalls.

“I just broke down and said, 'This is wonderful for my family.'

Future Plans

Although James considers his new home perfect, he plans to sell it to return to Hull and help his family:

“I plan to enjoy life here with my family and friends for a few months. But I will sell it sooner rather than later to help my children become homeowners,” he explains.

Expenses of the New Home

Despite his winnings, James faces expenses that are significantly higher than anything he was used to.

“The costs of the new home reach £1655 a month, which includes utility bills, maintenance, and other services,” he notes.

“This time, I plan to save the money I received at least for the near future.”

Conclusion

James understands that winning is not just a change for him, but an opportunity to help his children with housing issues.

Omaze

“Hull will always be my home,” he sums up.

This story demonstrates how unexpected changes can open new opportunities in people's lives. James, even with a new house, continues to think about his family's well-being, emphasizing the importance of supporting loved ones in tough times.
