Zinedine Zidane announced his return to football: named the condition.
Zidane's confession about his return to football
According to The Sun: Zinedine Zidane personally confirmed that he wants to return to coaching. The 53-year-old former midfielder has not worked in football for four years.
ReutersZidane could be one of the candidates for the coaching position at 'Manchester United' if the club decides to sack Ruben Amorim. His second term as 'Real Madrid' coach ended in 2021, and some believe he may not return to professional football.
At the Sportello Sport festival on Sunday, Zidane dispelled rumors of having no intention to return to the coaching bench, stating:
“I will definitely return.”
However, he did not encourage Italian fans regarding a possible return to 'Juventus' and did not mention the vacancy at 'Old Trafford.' Instead, Zidane emphasized that he dreams of leading the French national team.
When asked about a return to 'Juventus,' Zidane replied:
“I don’t know. It didn’t happen before, I made other choices.”
“Juventus is always close to my heart, they gave me so much when I first got there.”
Adding about the future, he said:
“I don’t know. My feeling is that I want to have the opportunity to coach the national team in the future, although I don’t have it in mind right now. I would like to do it someday, but we’ll see.”
Possibility of becoming the coach of the French national team
The chances of becoming the coach of 'Les Bleus' do not come often. In the last two decades, France has had only three coaches, and Didier Deschamps has been in charge of the team for 13 years, leading them to victories in the World Cup and the Nations League.
Zidane is considered one of the best players in France, scoring 31 goals in 108 international matches before retiring in 2006. His last game ended in a conflict with Marco Materazzi in the World Cup final, which France lost in a penalty shootout.
