A new stadium worth $2.4 billion is planned to be built in the suburbs of Cleveland.
The team aims to construct it on a site near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
Huntington Bank Field, opened in 1999, will be demolished.
According to the deal, the Browns will also provide the city with $100 million for site redevelopment after the stadium's demolition.
The demolition cost will amount to $30 million, and Browns owners will also pay the city $5 million annually from 2029 to 2033.
Additionally, from 2029 to 2038, there will be an annual contribution of $2 million for 'community benefit projects'.
The new stadium is planned to be built in Brook Park, about 15 miles south of downtown Cleveland.
“Great news! The design of the new stadium is simply stunning!” - reacted one satisfied fan.
“Wow, I remember how the team revived in 1999/2000 with Tim Couch. This stadium is only 27 years old!” - noted another.
“NFL stadiums don't seem to last long anymore, do they?” - remarked a third.
“Almost every NFL stadium will be roofed by 2050,” - predicted a fourth.
Cleveland Mayor Bibb addressed reporters on Monday, noting that the deal is beneficial for both parties - the city and the team.
“This investment of $100 million continues our waterfront development momentum and economic revival,” - he said.
“This agreement puts the waterfront on a path to transformational development, and the Browns on a path to world-class in Brook Park. This is the right decision for the city and the region.”
The Browns plan to spend $1.2 billion on building the new stadium, with an additional $600 million coming from the state budget. The new stadium is expected to open in 2029, after the lease at Huntington Bank Field ends.
In the 2025 season, the team got off to a rough start, currently sitting at the bottom of the AFC North with a record of 1-5 after six games. They exchanged veteran quarterback Joe Flacco for the Bengals, and rookie Dillon Gabriel became the new quarterback.
