New Wendy's Restaurants in the UK

According to The Sun: The famous American fast-food chain Wendy's plans to open new locations in the UK and make changes to its menu.

Company representatives told The Sun newspaper that they want to open three new restaurants this year, including one in Plymouth, which will be the first location of the chain in the southwest of England, as well as in Nottingham and Basildon.

This will bring the total number of Wendy's restaurants in the UK to 48.

The chain is known for its delicious and high-quality food, including popular dishes like the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, the Baconator, and Frosty desserts.

Menu with New Dishes

Wendy's fans can expect innovations on the menu, which now includes Chicken Tenders – chicken strips that can compete with KFC. These strips are now available in all restaurants, along with a selection of five sauces.

Customers can choose three or five chicken strips, which can be served separately or as part of a combo meal.

Available sauces: Sweet Chili, Smokin' Hot, Buttermilk Ranch, Wendy's Signature, and Honey BBQ.

Starting from October 7, two new dishes will appear on the menu: the Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger – a pork patty between two slices of grilled cheese, and the Biscoff Frosty, which combines vanilla or chocolate Frosty with Biscoff sauce and Biscoff crumbs.

In addition, this fall the chain will introduce the Frosty Frights Kids' Meals, a limited menu for children that will cost £3.99. Kids will receive one of six Frosty Frights toys, inspired by the Frosty dessert.

"These new dishes are bold, you want to try them, and they are undoubtedly Wendy's products," said Michael Clark, Director of Wendy's in Europe.

Expansion of the Network

Wendy's has successfully established itself in the US with about 5,600 restaurants. Previous expansion attempts in the UK in the 1980s and 2000s were unsuccessful, but the return in 2021 was more successful.

British Wendy's fans consider the chain to be 'the best fast-food network' and note that the quality of the food is always high. One reviewer wrote: "Wendy's fries are the best among all fast-food restaurants, in my opinion."

Recent openings include restaurants in Solihull, York, and Blackpool. The next openings are planned in Plymouth, Nottingham, and Basildon. The Plymouth restaurant will be opened in the Drake Circus shopping center and is expected to create around 40 new jobs.

"The UK represents a dynamic and strategic market for Wendy's, and we are proud of the progress we have made in expanding our menu for a larger number of consumers," added Clark.
