Identified Engineer from DPRK Present at Russian Missile Launches on Ukraine.
South Korean intelligence has identified that one of North Korea's engineers was present at the launch of missiles by Russians in eastern Ukraine. According to NHK, the engineer is likely the same individual who accompanied Kim Jong Un during his inspection of an ammunition production plant.
NHK analyzed an image taken near Donetsk region in Ukraine and found an 80% facial match with the appearance of the engineer who accompanied Kim at the mobile missile launcher production plant.
This engineer from the DPRK is believed to support the launches of North Korean weaponry in Ukraine and is seeking new technologies. Furthermore, North Korea is participating in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as noted by the publication.
The U.S. is also concerned about the possible involvement of thousands of North Korean troops on Russia's side but currently lacks independent confirmation of this data.
South Korea considers the deployment of DPRK troops to Ukraine a serious threat to international community security, as noted in the article. Additionally, intelligence chief Кирил Budanov reported that about 11,000 North Korean infantrymen are in eastern Russia and are preparing to participate in combat operations in Ukraine.
