Usyk received a 90-day medical leave: why the fight with Parker is postponed.
Oleksandr Usyk received a hospital leave for 90 days
According to The Sun: Oleksandr Usyk received a 90-day medical leave, allowing him to postpone the title defense against Joseph Parker, although he was recently seen dancing on stage.
After a successful fight against Daniel Dubois at Wembley in July, the 38-year-old heavyweight champion had 30 days to negotiate with the mandatory challenger from New Zealand.

The boxer reported that he has back problems that have been troubling him for some time, so he needs additional time to recover.
The World Boxing Organization granted Usyk a three-month extension, despite videos appearing on social media showing him dancing.
Joseph Parker, who recently won against Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole, has scheduled a fight against Fabio Wardley on October 25.
Parker noted in a comment to SunSport:
“He deserves time to rest and dance with his family.”
“He has been busy with two fights against Tyson Fury and taking on Dubois.”
“I am the one who hasn't been busy, so now I need to get fights and be active.”
“The more you are in the ring boxing, the better you become.”
“Usyk can enjoy his time off, and when he is ready, I will be waiting.”
Problems with the Parker-Dubois fight
Parker was supposed to fight Dubois last February for the mandatory IBF title, but the fight did not happen due to the boxer’s illness.
Instead of the fight, Martin Bakole stepped into the ring but was knocked out in the second round without proper preparation.
Meanwhile, Dubois got a chance to compete with Usyk, while Parker was left without a fight.
Parker emphasized:
“It was a title fight and it was taken from me just days before the match.”
“At that stage we needed to find someone to fight, and it didn’t matter who.”
“I tried very hard and did not want to pass up that opportunity.”
Thus, Usyk's removal from the fight became an unexpected turn of events for the boxing community. However, it gives Parker an opportunity to shine in the ring, while Usyk will have time for full recovery. When Usyk can step back into the ring, he will have to overcome many challenges in competition with Parkers and other challengers.
